点评:Our experience at Golden Gate Canyon State Park was extremely disappointing. The biggest issue was not the park itself, but the way we were treated by the rangers and volunteer staff.
When we attempted to park, a volunteer began yelling at us and called over a ranger, who approached us in an extremely aggressive and confrontational manner. Rather than calmly explaining the situation or helping us understand what we were doing wrong, we were made to feel as though we had done something seriously wrong.
Unfortunately, the experience continued as we were leaving. A CPW employee driving a park truck followed closely behind us. We pulled over to allow her to pass because we assumed she might be responding to an emergency. Instead, she stopped behind us and began yelling at us, telling us that we were not allowed to stop.
At every interaction, we felt unnecessarily confronted, yelled at, and treated disrespectfully. A state park should be a place where people can enjoy the outdoors and feel welcome—not a place where visitors feel intimidated by employees and volunteers.
We also found the Raccoon Trail to be only mediocre and, in our opinion, not worth the stress of dealing with the staff and volunteers.
Based on this experience, **we would not recommend Golden Gate Canyon State Park**. The behavior of the staff completely overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable visit.
