点评：Aylett Nurseries, in St Albans, cultivate, sell and display dahlias as part of their Garden Centre. They have won more than 55 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Gold Medals and, at their annual festival, they showcase over 60 varieties – cuttings of the flowers on display are sold in the garden centre (by the cash desks).
I visited twice during the Autumn (aka Dahila) Festival – arriving on both days after the garden had opened but before the refreshment tent opened and thus before most visitors arrived. I really enjoyed wandering around the Dahila plants and having most of the gardens to myself (just a few gardeners and a couple of other early arrivals around). Afterwards, I made use of the refreshments tent and visited the garden centre (which is excellent).
The celebration gardens are always open; the Dahila plants/flowers can be viewed until the first harsh frost (that destroys the plants).
