点评：We’ve visited this garden centre a few times as the produce is great, but yesterday we visited the restaurant with our 6 month old daughter and had the rudest encounter with a restaurant waitress. It was just the one and all others were lovely and generally are, but the tone in which she spoke to us was atrocious. We went to the restaurant with the intention of eating but as our daughter was a bit fussy we decided to just get a drink. My husband ordered a beer and I had a soft drink. Unbeknownst to us, they’re not allowed to serve you alcohol without a meal, and so when the waitress later came over to collect some glasses she very rudely asked if we’d had food, to which we said no. She then said that technically we weren’t allowed the alcohol and genuinely asked us to leave. My husband and I were taken aback and said that we weren’t told about this but obviously the ship had sailed (he was halfway through his drink), and he quite rightly said that she sounded very accusatory that we had somehow intentionally duped them. A couple of other customers agreed with us that she had been very rude.
I would have thought the right way to go about it would have been to suggest we order something, which actually we would have done, but as it was, we decided to leave. I’ve never encountered anything like it.
