Lovely village with lots of history! Great walking!
Historic Deerfield的点评
点评：We were delightfully surprised by our trip. I had been here once about 45 years ago and it far exceeded my memories. The historic houses are really easy to access, and the visitor's center is centrally located. It's smart to start there and learn about what tours will be happening during the day. We ran into a tiny snag in that we didn't quite do everything on the first day, so had to buy another ticket the second day to wrap things up, so maybe plan exactly which houses & buildings you want to see ahead of time! The admission fee was very reasonable, and we got a lot accomplished on our first day. You could certainly see most of the village in a day. We were there in the summer and there were no crowds at all; I'm not sure if it would be busier when Deerfield Academy and Bement are in session. The tour guides were very good, too. Something I really liked was at the Flynt Center. In the upstairs gallery there were tons and tons of artifacts. These were not suitable to be in the homes, but they were still on display and not in storage-- I loved this decision as it provided even more historical pieces to view and compare. There was so much to learn in Historic Deerfield and I recommend a visit!
