A canal boat adventure providing a digital detox and family fun

点评：A stunning day on the Grand Union Canal and a perfect chance to switch off from everyday life. It was such a lovely opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet, take in the scenery, and reconnect as a family.
The kids absolutely loved learning how to work the locks and getting involved in the whole experience. Chugging along the canal felt like a real adventure for them. We took duck food with us and had so much fun spotting wildlife along the way – herons, kingfishers, swans, ducks, moorhens, coots, mandarin ducks and geese. It felt like a proper digital detox and a reminder of how much there is to enjoy away from screens.
We moored up for a family picnic with some classic British treats and really enjoyed sitting beside the canal taking in the beautiful landscape.
As complete novices, we really appreciated Paul's briefing before we set off. He clearly explained the route, gave key advice and covered safety in a way that made us feel relaxed and confident. We were well equipped and fully prepared for an excellent day out.
It was our first day on a narrowboat, but it definitely won’t be our last. Fun for all ages and a day we’ll remember for a long time.
