点评：If you want to see black bears, go just before dusk. Dawn might be a good time to go, also, but I'd rather not get up that early. If you go in the middle of the day, you might be lucky to see a few, but you might not see any. The first night we went, we saw one near the highway before we even turned into the refuge. Then we encountered just under ten, including one that stood up maybe 15 feet from our car and scratched its back against a couple of trees. There are signs posted not to feed the bears, and one has to remember that they can become extremely dangerous if fed by humans. We skipped a night, but then saw a bear near the highway again. We saw just under ten bears the second time and saw a bear standing on its hind legs in the distance. We also saw a couple of otters in the road. The wildlife refuge is a great place to go for free entertainment. Just obey the posted rules so everyone can have a good time.
