点评：The Mother Church of Country Music is absolutely worth the visit if you love the roots, stories, and legends behind the genre. The history of this iconic spot is fascinating: a working church that turned into a major event center, and the longtime home of the Grand Ole Opry. It’s where classic country stars like Hank Williams, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton took the stage and made country history.
We went on the guided tour—the slightly pricier option—and it was well worth it. A really knowledgeable guide walked us through the whole experience. You start in the lounge, where they serve drinks, then move into the Auditorium, learning the stories behind the stage, the balcony, and the star‑filled walls. The tour ends with a photo in front of the famous stage, which is a nice little keepsake.
Performances still happen throughout the year at the Ryman, so it’s not just a museum; it’s living history. We really enjoyed the guided tour and felt we got a lot more out of it than a self‑guided walk‑through would have. Either way, though, we highly recommend a visit here if you want to understand the heart and soul of country music.
