Located just a short drive north of Ubud, the natural setting remains incredibly lush, green, and beautiful. However, the organic "back to nature" peace of the area has largely been replaced by a massive, highly commercialized operation designed almost entirely for social media influencers. While the landscape is spectacular, the valley is now packed with artificial photo booths, giant nests, and the near constant sight of tourists in various spots swinging over the drop on the famous, highly marketed giant rice swings.
For us, the most rewarding and genuine part of the visit is the dedicated Luwak coffee (kopi luwak) section. Here, you get a solid educational walkthrough of how this highly specialized coffee is traditionally produced, and you can even see the nocturnal Asian palm civets (luwak) up close. While the premium Luwak coffee tasting itself is more of a novel bucket list item than an elite culinary experience, the highlight is the broader tasting flight. They present a colorful board of about a dozen different locally infused coffee and tea flavors, ranging from mangosteen tea to ginseng coffee, which is genuinely fun to experiment with as a family.
While we still enjoy the sheer scale of the property, the endless hustle, bustle, and screaming swing goers mean the tranquil, spiritual magic of the traditional Balinese countryside is hard to find here. It is a highly polished, high energy attraction rather than a quiet escape.

The valley is vast, and exploring the lower terraced pathways requires navigating a massive amount of steep, uneven dirt steps, narrow ridges, and suspension bridges.
