点评：We are no strangers to Persie or its range as we live locally, and have visited the distillery shop on several occasions, but this was the first time we had combined a tasting with a tour of the production areas. It was great fun and very informative and, on a late afternoon when the rain was pouring down and wind howling outside, being in the warm and cosy tasting room was a case of being in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing!
Chrissie and Simon's knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, their subjects were considerable. The tasting gave us an opportunity to explore different combinations of gins and mixers that we would never have tried at home. Understanding the distilling process, which is very much hands/noses on at Persie, with no automation, was fascinating.
It was a bonus to know more about their vodka operation, and a new whisky project in conjunction with a Perthshire whisky distillery which we will be keeping a close eye on.
For anyone wanting to know more about gin, or just to buy excellent products at source, visiting the shop and taking a tour are must-dos. For animal lovers, the icing on the cake is learning about the support Persie provide to local animal charities.
