The elite art selection here leans heavily modern, providing a sharp contrast to the old-school classical masters you find at the Getty. The galleries are packed with bold, high-contrast works from heavyweights like Warhol, Mondrian, Basquiat, etc Beyond the canvas, the highlights are highly kinetic and perfect for kids. Metropolis II is a masterpiece for keeping children completely locked in, it's a massive, multi-level grid of buzzing miniature cars best viewed from the upper balcony platform to appreciate the scale and chaotic movement. Outside, the iconic Urban Light street lamp installation is a mandatory photo stop, though you will have to dodge heavy influencer crowds later in the day. Overall LACMA is one or a must visit attraction in Los Angeles.
