点评：We visited Graceland, as most people who visit Memphis do, and we asked reception to book a cab to get us there. We got a bloke called Ray, from “Bumming a ride transportation”. He is a self-employed cab driver. Lovely fellow. He dropped us off and picked us up. Fare was around $35 dollars each way from memory. On picking us up he took us on a little detour and showed us where Elvis was originally buried prior to his final resting place at Graceland. He also showed us the house where Elvis’s dad moved after he re-married, together with the house where the partner of Elvis lived after he was divorced from Pricilla. I didn’t see this information whilst walking around Graceland, so it was nice of Ray to show us around. It is possible if we didn’t get Ray, we might not have known about any of it.
On the day we were booked for Graceland, our time slot was 10:30am. My advice is to book the earliest slot you can. It took us all day to go around the house and museum. There are a few places to eat on site. The tour we done was a self-guided audio tour. This takes you round the house and grounds giving you information as you go on an iPad mini. The tour doesn’t include any of the upstairs. This is off limits due to the personal nature of the rooms. The amount of information and exhibits is vast. I learnt a lot of things about Elvis throughout the day. Believe me when I say that you need a full day to make the most of all the exhibits.
