点评:We visited the Lorraine Motel & National Civil Rights Museum.
This museum offers a wealth of information and history about the civil rights movement, with interactive displays and artifacts. The museum highlight the powerful and humbling experience with well-designed and informative exhibits. Friendly and professional staff.
Walking through the exhibits truly makes you reflect on the strength, courage, and sacrifices of those who fought for equality. You can feel the history in every part of the museum, even outside in the parking lot.
The Civil Rights Museum provides historical context beginning with slavery, but its strength and focus are firmly rooted in the 20th-century Civil Rights Movement. The museum unfolds deliberately, guiding visitors through the movement’s defining moments, leaders, and sacrifices in a way that requires time and reflection. This is not a museum you rush through. The layout, curation, and use of sound and music create an immersive journey that is as emotional as it is educational.
Dr. King was staying in Room 306 while supporting the 1968 Memphis sanitation workers' strike and was shot on the balcony outside his room. I tried to get clear pics of the rooms Dr. King stayed in but there was a glare on the protective glass that made it hard to get good pictures. Im sharing them anyway.
