点评：We visited the Traditional Sicilian Puppet Theatre (Teatro dei Pupi) during our stay in Siracusa in late April and early May 2026 on the fourth leg of a five week visit to Sicily. The Teatro is located Via della Giudeca in Ortigia not far from the Museo del Pupi which we toured first. It is a small theatre which was nearly full for the 17:00 performance that we attended, with privileged front row seating appropriately reserved for children. It was very interesting to see the historically costumed puppets come to life in a show full of swordplay and dramatic flourishes. It was also great to meet the young puppeteers after the performance, but most impressive was the commitment to keeping this tradition of Sicilian puppet theatre alive for future generations. We were glad to have been able to fit the Teatro dei Pupi into a busy day in Siracusa.
