点评:Had a sunday afternoon free in southern Vt and decided to drive down route 7 and 7A to Bennington and the museum with their extensive Granda Moses picture collection . It was well worth the drive especially the 7a historical part through Manchester to Bennington . The museum is in an old stone building with an extensive well curated and explained Granda Moses art collection as well as a short interview excerpted from Edward Murrow 1950’s program dated 12/1955 I believe . The paintings are all explained as to influences technique etc and the museum makes an excellent 1-2 hour interlude . In addition the Bennington battle monument , the Robert Frost homestead as well as the Ira / Ethan Allen house are all in close proximity making for a very historical
Slice of Americana . Well worth the one hour drive from Rutland our starting point . Im sure that there are other things to see and do as well but these were our highlights today . The museum has an excellent gift store of Vermontania and lical artisan’s work and both museum staff on duty were extremely helpful to all visitors asking questions about the area . I highly commend the museum for their organization and thoughtful explanations of the artist as well as their exhibit and interpretation of the Battle of Bennington . 10/10
