点评:The reserve itself is very pretty but it is not set up for the large amount of visitors a bank holiday attracted. Car park is not large enough and only 3 toilets in visitor building that we could see. The real disappointment though was the cafe! We booked as we were travelling from different directions to meet. I spoke to the owner directly to book and he was accommodating, however that’s where the good service ended. The cafe was in chaos, apparently one member of staff down they had done nothing to cover this shortage. We queued for over an hour 15 mins just to be served, a booked table was allowed to push in front of us at the till and be served before us as the staff seemed to have no knowledge of who was booked first, and also did not seem to care when we raised this. If I catalogued everything that happened I would be writing pages so to avoid that I will just say; they were getting many complaints and the responses were rude and stressful for all. The young staff employed were slow and frankly seemed shot away … no clue how to serve customers and no care for good service. In the end we had to abandon the idea of food and finally at 3.30pm we were served some drinks and cake (we were starving!). Even then the order was incomplete ( they had sold some of the cake we ordered to someone else and had none left for us) and it came out in three stages, my dad had finished his before anyone else’s arrived! We were refunded what we paid but with no apology at all. It’s not rocket science , they completely over stretched themselves ….they should have reduced the menu as soon as they knew they had staff shortages, limited the numbers allowed in by closing some of the tables off and frankly just worked faster! Would not recommend and would not visit again.
