点评:Our visit was one of the trips included in a package holiday in the region so we had a local guide, not from the attraction.
It was an amazing experience and I am glad I made the effort, as we had been told there were steep steps, the number varying between 180 and 300 so were not sure what to expect. There are probably around 300 (round trip down into the grotto and then back up the same way).
Some of the steps are natural rock, some are concrete and some are metal. There are metal handrails. The very steep steps like in a ship we were advised to go down backwards.
You descend in stages, there is a brief video played onto the rocks showing the discovery of the cave. One tip is to take a torch, or use your phone light to see properly. The colours, formations and atmosphere make it a worthwhile experience.
On the downside, it got very stuffy and airless after 45 minutes. It was not cold but a light jacket may be needed by some people. There are water drips from the ceiling and also the floor has puddles in places - your shoes and trousers will get splashed especially where they brush on some of the narrower stairs, so perhaps wear older clothing although the dirt all washed off ok.
The gorge where it is situated has amazing views and is very beautiful - there is a small cafe, ok (free) toilets so a relaxing place for a drink/coffee after the descent!
