点评:The Dead River hike begins next to a power plant and starts with a steep walk up a rough gravel road. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended because solid footing is required in several areas of the trail. The trail is fairly obvious but not well marked so use a hiking app like AllTrails when in doubt. There are several trees and roots and rocks to negotiate with a bit of scrambling and good balance needed. Also, the best waterfall is at the top, so don’t turn around after the first couple of falls thinking you have seen it. Honestly, it is the most spectacular waterfall we’ve seen in Michigan. It is buggy in summer so be forewarned, use bug spray. The whole hike out and back is about 2.5 miles. There are a couple of pools where you can dip your feet, and we saw some young people swimming on a warm day.
