Picturesque lighthouse that you can go up to the top in

点评：This is a scenic, Cape Cod lighthouse that is one of the rare ones that you can go up inside to the top for a great view of Cape Cod. Admission is about $10 for the lighthouse tour. They tell you a little bit about the history of the lighthouse, and then you can climb the circular staircase and ladders to the top, where you can see the current, very small, LED light, and you can look out at a 360 degree view of Cape Cod.
Down in the base of the lighthouse there are a few exhibits and a video about the history of the lighthouse and how they moved it in 1996 from its original location back to its current location. They did that because the coastal erosion would have eventually caused it to fall into the ocean. There's also a gift shop with some lighthouse and Cape Cod merchandise.
There's a pathway in the back that we thought led out to an overlook of the ocean, and maybe that was the case in the past, but currently the path ends at a fenced off area far from a view of the ocean. The reason is that it's dangerous to go near the edge of the cliffs, because they could collapse from the coastal erosion. So, you get your ocean view at the top of the lighthouse instead.
So, this is a worthwhile visit if you want to be able to see, and go up in, a picturesque lighthouse. Plan to spend about one hour.
