点评:This is a lovely historic site located in Manchester, VT. It is very walkable, but the site also offers cart rides for guests to get from one area to another. We visited late on a Tuesday afternoon and were pleased to find a light crowd. The docents were all friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to visit the main house and gardens, walk to and through the Pullman car, and amble through the gift shop in under two hours. The gift shop was full of soaps, honey, and beautiful floral items -- I could have spent much more time (and money!) there! Cuttings from the gardens are available for purchase, which I thought was a unique offering. The admission fee of $25 per adult seemed steep to me. I would not recommend bringing small children, as there are many fragile items on display, both in the house and the gift shop.
Prior to our visit, I searched for events taking place when we would be in town, and we had the delightful pleasure of being able to attend a program of parlor music in the house that evening. Registration was required, but there was an option to "purchase" donation-free tickets. This program definitely made our visit worth our while.
