Lookout Mountain Was a Nice Diversion from a Lost Vacation

点评：Having lost our Gulf Coast vacation to Hurricane Isaias, we stopped overnight near Lookout Mountain as we returned home in northeastern Kentucky. Before resuming travel the next day, we decided to check out Lookout Mountain. We drove to the mountain top and went to the station there for their incline railway. It was free to go to the observation decks, so we climbed the stairs to the upper deck. There was a nice view of Chattanooga, Tennessee, with the Tennessee River snaking through the city. IN the distance one can see a range of mountains. There was a cool breeze blowing while we were there in mid-October 2026. Inside the station house they sold souvenirs, many related to Moon Pies, which are made only in Chattanooga but distributed more widely. If it weren't for the fact that we were on a day-long return trip home, we would have checked out Ruby Falls and Rock City and possibly ridden the incline railway!
