点评:This was a trip with a group of friends, all very interested in the castle.
When arriving we all we dying for a coffee, very disappointed to find only one outlet, and a big queue, only about 6 tables sitting outside, fortunately a pleasant day.
After a long chat, we decided to check out our lunch venue, before heading into the tudor house, which is attached to the only remaining part of the castle. There is a cafe BUT CLOSED, this was a sunday = why??
Taking place around the beautiful grounds with a fantastic view from the ramparts, an artisan faire was taking place - ah!! food outlets we thought. After a hunt for food, only one stall appropriate and we sadly had a sausage roll and a bottle of water. We sat under a huge marque - music was playing but we could hardly hear outselves talk.
The tour of the tudor house was fabulous =- also the knowledgeable. After a walk to pass time around the gardens, we then sat at the coffee/tea outlet waiting 1 hr until the coach home.
The visit had its good points, but no explanation to why no cafe.
