The park is deceivingly huge, once you step inside, the city noise completely fades away, and it genuinely feels like you’ve entered a national park with distinctly different micro environments. Near the southern entrances, you’ll find the iconic Central Park Zoo, while deeper exploration rewards you with beautifully curated lawns, mature woodlands, and even a stunning fantasy style fortress; Belvedere Castle which serves as a visitor center.
The landscape is incredibly dynamic, featuring several massive, scenic ponds, historic stone bridges, and active pathways filled with classic horse drawn carriages and pedicabs. Whether you prefer to rent a bike, jog, or simply stroll, there is endless ground to cover. We also stumbled upon fantastic gathering spaces and outdoor performance areas, like the majestic Bethesda Terrace, which are always buzzing with talented local artists. Because it is a true four seasons park, the scenery transforms completely throughout the year, from vibrant spring blooms and lush summer canopies to fiery autumn foliage and a serene, snowy winter wonderland.
