2 different trails, beautiful but crowded

点评：We arrived at 3:00 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and waited about 35 minutes to get to the parking lot. This area has stunning natural beauty, but as a result, it is crowded and chaotic. We were rarely alone on the trails. There are 2 different loop trails from the visitor center. The Hall of Mosses is a bit less than a mile, and has some elevation change with steps. The forest and understory is lush, with intriguing moss-covered trees and ferns. The Spruce Nature Trail is a bit over a mile and more level, with similar lush forest and goes to a river area with beautiful views of the mountains. The Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center is a valuable asset to this area. The Rangers were friendly and so helpful. The restrooms with running water felt luxurious compared to pit toilets and porta potties at other trails in the park. Come for the beauty, but don't expect a peaceful experience.
