点评:Each room with it's detailed plater work and the three story mahogany cantilever staircase were elegantly stunning. Rooms furnished with period-appropriate furniture. Nathaniel's daughter Sarah Russell was widowed in 1817 and moved in with her parents and her three young children. She inherited the family home and lived in the home with her daughter, her son-in-law Rev. Paul Trapier and their 12-children. In 1857, Sarah died and the Trapiers sold the mansion to Governor Robert Francis Withers Allston. 1870-1905 it was a boarding school. Loved hearing about the restoration process matching paint color, silk wallpaper and carpet. Our docent was Susanna and she kept our group engaged with her enthusiasm of history. Restroom on site. We purchsed the combo ticket with the Aiken-Rhett House. Interior photos allowed without flash.
