点评:We joined this tour hoping the guide would relate some real-life experiences in addition to showing us around the MIT campus, and we weren’t disappointed! Jorge shared his personal story about coming to the US from Peru, having to learn English along with his dad, and becoming an MIT Beaver. Any tour guide can take you around the campus and spout facts about buildings, but only students can give you a feel for real campus life, from what the classes are like to student pranks (which comp sci students apparently refer to as “hacks”) to what the application process was like. I have no idea if my son will qualify for a lofty school like MIT, but it was great to be able to ask questions of someone who made it in. Jorge patiently answered everyone’s questions and even stayed a bit longer than the tour duration to make sure the parents of prospective students were satisfied. Thank you, Jorge!
