点评:We love anything to do with engines, machinery and their history and development. If this is your thing also, visit the Forncett Industrial Steam Museum, it's all here in spades. We arrived early doors, and as it turned out just in time for one of the volunteers to ask us and the two other couples there if we would like to have a tour around the museum. Of course! Neil was so knowledgeable and passionate about the museum, it's origins and the machinery on show he really made the place come alive. As we had come on a "non-steam day" we had assumed we would just be looking around by ourselves, so the tour was a real bonus, and excellent. If you visit and are asked if you would like this, say yes! The steam engines themselves are fascinating and jaw dropping. I would say this is a collection of national importance. The variety, in size, and date range is very well curated. Inside, it's surprisingly light. As a keen photographer I was expecting taking snaps to be a challenge. Not so. We were able to recommend a visit to one of the volunteers at the nearby Norfolk Tank Museum who was wondering if it would be suitable for his little boy, and we will be back on a Steam Day to see them all working. This place is definitely a hidden gem.
