点评：Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is consistently one of our favorite spots to visit whenever we are in the San Diego area. It is a wonderfully immersive destination that truly offers a one stop experience, combining vibrant shopping, authentic dining, insightful history, and lush park spaces all in one location. The park is quite massive, stretching from one end to the other, and is meticulously curated to reflect the aesthetic of San Diego from over a century ago. You immediately feel as though you have been transported back to the Mexican Spanish colonial period, seamlessly blended with the rugged, adventurous influence of the American cowboy era.
Our favorite activity here is simply strolling through the historic part, where the authentic dirt paths and original, preserved adobe structures create a genuine atmosphere of yesteryear. The area is filled with fascinating, well preserved building, many now functioning as immersive museums, quaint candy stores, visitor centers, etc. You will even find a working historic hotel and a remarkably comprehensive rock and mineral shop. Adding to the authenticity, many of the staff and docents are dressed in period accurate clothing, which truly makes the experience feel like stepping into a living time capsule.
Pro Tip: Do not miss the culinary scene here. This area is home to some of the absolute best, most authentic Mexican restaurants in San Diego. Whether you are looking for fresh handmade tortillas, world class margaritas, or traditional carne asada, the dining options here are a massive highlight of the visit, just make sure you arrive hungry!
