点评:This was a spectacular and surprising day and the absolute highlight of our visit to Italy. We booked this in advance with Marco and Beatrice as we wanted to visit the region and taste the Franciacorta. We were offered several different options but decided to select the most unusual and interesting: a pairing of Franciacorta with Caviar. Our driver Diego was terrific. He picked us up in Milan and took us on the hour drive to the Calvisius Sturgeon Farm in the Brescia region. We had no idea how caviar is produced in the past few decades. Our guide at the Farm (I wish I could remember his name because he was excellent) showed us the operation of birthing, growing and caring for seven species of sturgeon so that the eggs could be harvested and turned into several varieties of caviar. This was beyond fascinating. We were then taken to the Dispensia Franciacorta where we were treated a five course lunch utilizing the caviar products and the sturgeon meat itself - all paired with delicious Satens and Franciacortas. What a spectacular and unforgettable meal. Lastly, we visited a charming, beautiful boutique winery - Ronco Colina - where we were given a tour. They were bottling the day we were there which was a treat. We tasted more Saten, Franciacorta and the still wine Curtefrancia. We were happy to bring home several of their wines. What a great day!
