点评:The cultural center provides an in depth display and understanding of the Tlinget culture in the Pacific northwest. The three guides who provided the tour of the site were extremely knowledgeable of the culture and help to preserve it within the village. They answered every question while providing their personal experiences.
There is a section on life and foods, crafts (weaving, blankets, boxes) and three rooms with door screens and corner posts. The corner posts and door screens were very well preserved and the colors still vibrant after more than 100 years. The walls of the three rooms are all hand hewn using native adzes.
We had seen Tlinget culture on display in other museums in Alaska but this provided the most comprehensive knowledge of the culture.
Unfortunately there is no taking of photographs inside the center to protect the cultural images.
