点评:This is a very unique museum that shows you the only actual pirate treasure ever found - the Whydah, which shipwrecked off Cape Cod in 1717 and was finally found in the 1980s. They did a laborious process of recovering the treasure and other items onboard (a process that they show you at the end of the museum), and put them on display along with a general history of pirates. It's amazing to see the actual items they recovered, and the museum is really high quality in terms of the atmosphere and display of the items.
You can go through it fairly quickly in about an hour, or an hour and a half if you linger and read everything. It could be kind of expensive if you took young kids and they rushed you through everything. You'd find that you'd finish the museum in 30 - 45 minutes, feeling that you didn't get a chance to see everything. So, I wouldn't recommend taking very young kids who can't appreciate it. Wait until they are a little older and either have an interest and patience, or where they're at the age where you can make them wait for you to read the things you want to read.
The last room in the museum shows the process that they use to recover the items and get them out of the rock that has formed around them. They are still recovering items today, so the museum may still expand.
