点评:I visited the Hallmark visitor’s center while in Kansas City on business today. It was an interesting journey through history to not only learn about the man who started this company from scratch, had personal connections to presidents, poets, and even Walt Disney, but also a journey through the impact that Hallmark has had on American culture and traditions, through greeting cards, movies, ornaments, and wrapping paper. The human journey is woven together with deep emotion, personal stories that connect people, and heartfelt sentiment. Hallmark has had a role in that for a century. The only suggestion I would offer to the exhibit would be to increase info on Hallmark movies (where are they made, how are they made, casting, budgeting, filming locations), as well as more of the operations side of the print business (what paper mills produce the greeting cards, how many are printed every day, warehousing, etc.) Another fun museum aspect would be an exhibit where you can type in your zip code to see if any movies were produced in your area, and where your local Hallmark stores are. It would create a more personal connection to a multinational corporation. All in all, a fun morning of learning!
