In early September, a group of eight of us from a Japanese university—seven architecture students and one professor—visited Bali for a seven-day study trip, mainly to research architecture. We chartered a vehicle for all seven days, from our arrival at the airport until our return to the airport for our flight home.
We found this local travel company online and contacted several companies before deciding which one to use. At first, we were a little concerned about arranging everything directly with a company overseas that we had found on the internet. However, this company always responded to our questions very quickly, carefully, and professionally. Since this was an official university study trip, we also needed information about insurance and guarantees to provide to our university administration. They were able to provide us with the necessary documents and information, which gave us confidence that we could trust them.
Throughout the seven days, our driver was cheerful, friendly, and extremely helpful. He was always flexible when we needed to make small changes to our schedule. He also taught our students some English expressions and local words along the way. The students quickly became comfortable with him and really enjoyed talking and spending time with him throughout the trip.
We traveled in a Toyota HiAce, which was spacious enough for the eight of us. The air conditioning worked well, making our journeys very comfortable, and bottled mineral water was provided for us every day.
Our trip involved not only regular sightseeing but also visits to buildings and facilities for architectural research. At some places, it was not easy to find the correct entrance or ticket counter, and sometimes we needed to explain the purpose of our visit or make special requests. In these situations, our driver often spoke directly with the local staff and helped us sort everything out. This was extremely helpful and made our research much easier.
Traffic congestion can also be quite heavy in Bali, but our driver was always flexible about meeting points and departure times, taking the traffic conditions into consideration. Thanks to his support, we were able to travel comfortably and safely throughout the seven days and complete our architectural study program as planned. We were very satisfied with the entire experience.
We were told that this was the company’s first time arranging a tour for a Japanese group. Communication is basically in English, but you do not need highly advanced English skills. I think anyone who can manage everyday English conversation should be able to communicate without much difficulty. We certainly had no significant communication problems during our trip.
The pricing was also reasonable and clearly explained. From our first inquiry until the end of our trip, we always felt that we were in good hands.
For Japanese travelers who, like us, may initially feel a little uncertain about booking directly with a local travel company found online, I can confidently recommend this company.
