点评：Very disappointing experience with a staff member on the 3rd floor yesterday.
I completely understand and respect the museum’s policy that drinks are not allowed in the galleries. My child took one sip of water, and as soon as the staff member pointed it out, I immediately put the bottle back in our bag. However, the staff member on the 3rd floor was extremely rude and still insisted that we leave the gallery and go down to the first floor immediately.
I have no issue following museum rules, but I was very disappointed by the way the situation was handled. The staff member could have simply and politely reminded us of the policy, especially after we immediately complied. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily harsh and unprofessional.
All of the other staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the older male staff member on the 3rd floor, in the Modern and Contemporary Art section at the end of the building, was a notable exception.
We visited the Yale University Art Gallery with our child hoping to have a positive and enjoyable cultural experience. Unfortunately, this encounter left us with a very negative impression of the museum.
