Unforgettable once in a lifetime experience!

We got the contact details for JPK Adventures through our hotel, Heritage Awali, when we were looking for a dolphin boat tour. From the very beginning, the communication via WhatsApp was easy, friendly and straightforward, and we were able to arrange our trip very quickly.
On the day of the tour, Stefano, our skipper, picked us up directly from the beach in front of our hotel. He was incredibly friendly and immediately made us feel comfortable. He was also very considerate because my husband is prone to seasickness. We had discovered this during a whale-watching/swimming tour the day before, but this time he was much better prepared after getting some medication from the pharmacy.
Stefano first took us to a spot where we could see and swim with dolphins – and what an incredible experience that was! We were lucky enough to swim right in the middle of a large pod of dolphins, and we were simply speechless. It was one of those experiences we will never forget. Stefano always chose the best spots for us to get into the water, giving us plenty of opportunities to swim with the dolphins.
And as if that wasn’t already amazing enough, we then headed to another spot where Stefano looked for sea turtles for us. He actually found five turtles, one after another, and we were able to swim with a different turtle each time. It was unbelievable how easily he spotted them!
After that, we cruised along the beautiful south coast around Le Morne, passing the hotel beaches and continuing towards Crystal Rock. Along the way, Stefano also stopped so we could get into the water and snorkel.
The final highlight was actually the boat ride back from Crystal Rock to our hotel. Stefano handled the boat incredibly well throughout the entire day. We always felt completely safe and comfortable with him, and his calm and smooth way of driving was especially appreciated by my husband.
Overall, Stefano gave us an absolutely incredible and unforgettable day. His experience, his knowledge of the area and his amazing eye for spotting dolphins and turtles made the whole experience truly special. We are incredibly grateful to him!
Unfortunately, we only received the contact details for JPK Adventures after our whale-watching/swimming tour. The whale tour itself was great, but looking back, we would definitely recommend booking the private boat tour as a combination package including the whale-watching/swimming experience. It is more expensive, but having the boat entirely to yourself means the experience can be much more personalized and you are not dependent on the schedule or needs of a larger group. And you have a great skipper, like Stefano 😁
If we ever come back to Mauritius, we will definitely contact JPK Adventures again without hesitation – and hopefully get to spend another day on the water with Stefano ❤️
