点评:This was my first time coming to the Jubilee and I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It was one of the most unorganized events I’ve ever been to. It was miserable.
Before going I went to the website and Facebook pages for information. I saw that I would need cash for the shuttle from the general entrance parking areas to the festival, so I made an extra trip to the bank to get cash on the way there. I am from out of town and don’t know anything about the town and the only info given online was that it was at Point Mallard Park. So I put that in my GPS by the time I got to the nearby elementary school, the roads leading Point Mallard Park were closed off and everyone was parking in the yard of the school, which I did.
There were no signs for shuttles and no shuttles to be seen, so I just followed the crowds.
Not knowing how far I was from the event or what direction it was, I just followed the crowds. There were literally no signs about parking or giving directions or anything. After a mile of walking through a wooded road and path it finally opened up to the park.
I was exhausted from walking all that way in the heat so I stood in line to get a drink. I finally get to the window to order and they tell me they don’t take money, that I needed to go to the opposite end of the park from where I entered and exchanged my money for tickets. Again, no signs telling any of this. No entry signs or information or directional signs to be seen.
To top all that off, the bass of the music was so loud that it was setting off car alarms and people had to go move their vehicles away.
In short, I was severely disappointed in this. One would think that after 40 something years there would be more organization and information given. If the roads are going to be blocked off to the location given on the website, then there needs to be a map or information on the website telling you where things are and where to park. Extremely disappointed in this.
