点评:If one were to describe the tour we had with this company in Klawock the only word that comes to mind would be failure.
To begin with the bus that was being used as a retired school bus so that seating for adults was challenging to say the least. The ventilation on the bus was so efficient that after about five minutes or so the windows fogged up so that outside visibility was impossible.
Our tour was to encompass two stops, the first at a totem carver and the second at a totem pole park. The totem carver was interesting and our group certainly learned a lot. The same can be said for the second stop, a totem pole park The this park stop the local guide was indeed well informed and delivered his presentation in an easy comfortable fashion explaining the intricacies of each pole.
It was here at the totem pole park that things went south. The tour operator had laid on only two retired school buses the jockey is shifts a few hundred adults from one location to another. This meant that for our group we were left standing at the totem park for 35 minutes in the cold driving rain. As if to add insult to injury we had been told that we would have a local aboriginal guide on board and indeed that was the case for the last 15 minutes or so. The only two things that this guide pointed out was the local high school and a saw mill. Of course we could see neither because the windows on the school bus were fogged up.
As I reflect upon it calling this operation a disaster would be a compliment!!
