Superb hiking experience
Mexico Travesias的点评
点评：I strongly recommend this locally owned outdoor guide company without any reservations. At age 70 I am an experienced but aging hiker, needing a custom designed 4 days of hiking and climbing over a 6 day period, with rest days. I needed to acclimate, and I have never hiked in central Mexico, so I had no understanding of the geography or of the safety questions (both of the hikes, and any danger of crime).
Travesias designed a combination of their standard day trip hikes to the iconic volcanoes of El Popo and La Izta; a climb to the Pico del Aguila in El Ajusco (dead volcano towering over southern CDMX); and a two day overnight hike in the foothills of the volcano Nevado de Toluca.
The guide Alberto and guide / part owner Carlos were friendly, professional, informative, and considerate of my limitations. They put safety and quality of the experience first. Every day came with transportation, snacks, drinks, food, and a great meal to finish the hike. Office manager Arnulfo was responsive and arranged to meet me in the office prior to the hikes to orient me.
I learned a huge amount about hiking in central Mexico, and enjoyed soul stirring nature within two hours of a metropolis of 23 million people!
Travesias also does guiding on climbs of four of the “big 5” volcanoes in central Mexico, for experienced climbers and those capable of very strenuous outdoor adventures. They can provide all of the equipment needed if you choose to travel without packs, poles, boots, helmets, etc.
Again, I hope to hike and climb again with these good people, trust them completely, and recommend them without reservation!.
