White Sands National Park的点评
点评：Living in Oregon where we have huge, white, sand dunes that are tall, when we first saw White Sands, we were disappointed. They were small and plant covered on the outside, but hey, we came this far, we are going to drive through and see if it gets better. In the visitor center, I watched an interesting movie about how the dunes were formed, how the wildlife and plants adapted over eons and I knew there was more here than what you first see. BRW, the bathrooms are disgusting. The men's especially is a disgrace to a National Park. Once we drove into the center of the dunes, it was quite beautiful. I wouldn't chose to drive from home in Oregon just to see White Sands, but since it fit our drive across America and back to AZ where we are headed, I was definitely worth the small amount of miles to see it. It is the only place in the world like it, so that is pretty amazing. They have great wind blocking, metal covers over picnic tables and even
bar-b-q places. People were climbing the dunes and sledding down them. That looked like fun if you are young enough to do it. I would have given four stars if the bathrooms weren't so poorly maintained.
