点评:Reasonably close to Madison, this was a perfect place to go the day after our daughter’s wedding to mix and mingle and spend time with family who had traveled from far. Set on a beautiful piece of land the, the tour comprised indoor and outdoor spaces. Our tour was led by Dan who was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the property and its history. It was interesting to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright’s and see how it affected his home as he rebuilt, remodeled, modified, etc. according to his needs. I loved to see how he seamlessly blended the inside and outside. I also really enjoyed seeing his Asian art collection, especially the panels and screens.
I would like to have been able to see the apprentices rooms which were made out of parts of the barn where previously livestock had been kept.
Our party included an elderly relative who needed to sit down and rest occasionally, and he was well accommodated, being able to sit down in different rooms while listening to the presentation. Some of the stone paths are a bit uneven.
