Hocking Hills: Exceeded expectations
Hocking Hills State Park的点评
点评：Up until a few months ago I had never heard of Hocking Hills, Ohio. My wife and I on the suggestion of some friends spent four days staying at an AirBnB in Hocking Hills this past week. It taught us an important lesson--sometimes the most amazing getaways are only a few hours away.
My expectations were a bit low because I never imagined this kind of geography in Ohio. But any bias I had was gone as we explored the incredible trails in this area. As a photographer I was so impressed with these trails and sights.
> Kudos to the state of Ohio for making these trails so accessible, well-marked, well-maintained. I love the trails are designed as a one-way loop, so you don't have two streams of traffic on the path.
> For photographers--be sure to take your wide angle lense. It's hard to believe the scale of these recessed caves like Ash Cave. Unfortunately, my wide angle broke, but I luckily had my GoPro to get wide shots. If you have a decent phone camera be sure to use the wide angle, and panorama settings to get the best pics.
> We stayed near Lake Logan which is about 12 miles north of the state park. There are Airbnbs, a Holiday Inn Express, and some other small motels. There is also a beautiful lodge in the state park.
