A few days later while I was still in el Camino, I got an email from them saying that I should provide a receipt if I wanted to get refunded. I sent them aging the same receipt and this time they replied saying that they needed a full work order from the shop where the bicycle was repaired. When I finally returned the bike, I spoke in person to a guy at their office who repeated the same thing and declined to refund us, even though he could clearly see the parts that were replaced. An important note is that the person who helped us with the bike in Porto said that we were the third people coming to them for help with similar problems with bikes from Tournride in the last few weeks. And he mentioned that in every case they had gotten no support from them. Avoid this merchant, there are others who would stand by you when you need them the most.
