点评:This museum was among the few open during our visit to DC. At first, I thought it was closed but after realizing it was open, we made our way in. It is hard to enter and not feel the gravity of why this museum exists. You can take an ID card and learn about a Holocaust victim. It tells whether they lived or died. I could easily spend many hours here but it is such a solemn place. It is set up to allow visitors to tour it as things happened and there are many times when it is clear, history may be about to repeat itself. There were school groups visiting while we were there and for the most part they were very respectful as we all educated ourselves. Films clips help tell the story and keep things lively. Museum workers are available to answer questions and on the day we visited, there was also a Holocaust survivor on hand. There were times when many were fighting back tears as the tour progressed through the most horrible of times. Visits to the museum are free but it is best to reserve a time online to enter.
