点评:This tour of the Eisenhower house and barn is a hidden gem! President Eisenhower was president when I was a small child and I was curious about them so we drove to the farm ourselves. You can also take a bus from the Visitors Center. There is no charge to see the house, but they only take about 25-30 people for each tour. You may have to wait a bit for the next one. While you wait, you can see his Presidential limousine and their personal car in the barn, the Secret Service office, and even try putting a golf ball on his personal putting green. They have clubs and balls for you to use.
The house is kept just as they lived in it, displaying lots of gifts from foreign dignitaries and items that Mamie collected, even from cereal boxes! We had an amazing Park Ranger guide named Connor who passed on many stories of President Eisenhower and his love of painting and Mamie’s love of the color pink. The master bath still has all of the pink bath fixtures in it!
It’s an awesome experience to go through this property, and it should not be missed!
