May cancel your holiday months after booking

点评：I’m writing this review for the benefit of other potential holiday makers. We booked this property, for a week in July 2026, back in October 2025. We received a kind welcome email from the owner and everything seemed fine. Just this week (4 months later), the owner has cancelled on us due to a double booking. We were offered compensation and the option of booking another week, but as we were booked to stay at a separate cottage in St Ives the week before and travelling from West Yorkshire, this wasn’t an option. Also, we have children in school and jobs we’ve taken our annual leave for, we cannot just randomly change the dates this close to the holiday. This has now left us in a complete mess, as any other suitable properties have been booked. The owner didn’t even speak to us in person, there’s been no offer of any other compensation (if we cancel anything we book, we loose the deposit). Please be aware, the owner isn’t very competent and may cancel your holiday, well after the booking date.
