点评:I walked the full Grampians Peaks Track with friends over thirteen days in winter 2026. Overall, it was an average quality extended bushwalk. The scenery is pretty good, but not in the same class as one would see in Tasmania or New Zealand. We saw nobody else walking the full length of the track and just a few walking short sections.
The camping fees are excessive, particularly thanks to the fact that you have to pay for two people, even if you are travelling alone.
Being in winter, it was pretty cold, especially at night. Most of the camp sites have cooking shelters, but they are drafty, unheated, and were so cold that it was better to cook dinner and spend the evening in a tent.
It would be better to walk this track in spring or autumn; summer can be very hot and dry.
The difficulty of the walking is highly variable. Some is over-engineered Australian Walking Track Grading System grade 2, much is grade 3 or 4. One particular section, along the Dials Range is probably grade 5, over quite rough, rocky terrain, with virtually no track construction to be seen. If you think this section will be too rough for you, it could easily be by-passed by following Redman Raod and Dials Track.
