点评：Isabella is a sweet young Lady that is very helpful. Since it was going to rain the morning that planned to take my ride she allowed me to take a late start. I road one of the 12 speed bikes. It was basically new. I found out why during my ride. I'm a bit over weight and 62 years old so the climbs and the mud were more than I expected and I ended up pushing my bike most of the way. If I were willing to use one of the E-Bikes the ride would have been less challenging but less rewarding. I still would have had to push the bike while I was next to the canyon.
The solitude and beauty of the ride is what made it extremely memorable. There was one point during my climb about 1/4 mile from the peak of the trail, that I felt that I had stepped back in time. I could see nothing man made in any direction for as far as I could see.
The ride was the highlight of my trip to Iceland.
I have a suggestion for whoever does the trail maintenance. Consider TruGrid pavers for the washouts and marshy areas. They could be cut in half so they would only be 12" wide and if they were filled with volcanic cinders of the correct size (1" and less), they would combat the erosion (that is a problem) and allow your clients to ride over the marsh without sinking through the mud and moss.
Just a thought.
