Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park的点评
点评：Ocmulgee Mounds is the site of habitation for more than 10,000 years, most notably by a tribe that built large mounds and a village here. The history is interesting as archaeologists have found countless artifacts in the area, many of which are displayed in the uniquely-designed visitors center. But the reason people come here is the mounds, which actually were built for different purposes. One was a funeral mound. Another was a meeting lodge, which has been reconstructed (the original floor remains). Others were once topped with buildings.
The Park is relatively compact. There are only four mounds of any significant size (two of them together). All can be reached on short walks on well-kept paths from the visitors center or by car.
Two hours is enough to see all the major mounds and thoroughly visit the visitors center museum, including watching the Park film.
