Worth it if you spend the time

点评：I take one star away for the high admission cost but in the end I would do it again. Biltmore Estate is an amazing spectacle of both natural and man-made beauty. If you spend enough time there (recommend minimum 4-8+ hours), it is worth the cost but if you only have 1-2 hours to speed walk the house and grounds, its probably not worth it. Also, it is NOT really a historically significant place wrt to American history so much as a culturally significant place wrt architecture, art, nature, and the preservation project/story. Biltmore is special relative to similar estates (Monticello, Mount Vernon, Hearst Castle, etc) and they maintain a high enough standard of presentation, preservation and service (plus luxury amenities available on property) to justify the ticket if you take advantage of all that is included. You're basically getting access to not just the mansion but a small museum worth of art, a botanical garden that rivals the national one in DC, miles of manicured hiking trails, and a working farm/resort/vineyard with a free wine tasting, all on one ticket. We also felt the evening "Luminere" experience was worth the added cost and similar to other virtual "light art" shows we have seen and paid for (i.e. Van Gogh Immersive). If you have the time, I recommend a ticket that lets you come over two days to help mitigate weather risk and give you enough time to get your money's worth exploring the grounds and Antler Village. We also ate dinner in the Antler Village (Village Social) and the food was great (and not over-priced).
