Amazing family holiday with the teenagers!

点评：It has been difficult in the past to find a holiday that the whole family enjoys, but when we found this activity holiday in Podstrana with Green World, the boy (17) and girl (15), were immediately excited. The husband grumbled that it would be cheaper to just book our own accommodation and arrange the activities ourselves, but he was missing the point. This is a group holiday for families with teenagers. You get to spend time as a family, but the teenagers have a ready-made gang to hang out with as well. Being with new friends their own age meant there was no moaning, no grumpy moments and sometimes the phones were even abandoned!
The first evening we met our hosts, Maria and Josip, at the pool, where each family warily smiled at each other before being taken to a local beachside restaurant for dinner. The teenagers were put on one table and the adults on another. Within a few minutes they were talking, laughing and getting to know each other whilst the adults chatted. The first day we went kyaking in 2-man kyaks, and straight away the parents were ditched in favour buddying-up with fellow teenagers. On the paddle back we stopped at a huge rock where they encouraged each other to jump off. The other activities were much the same where they gained as much pleasure from the company as they did with the activities themselves. There were generally no organised activities later in the afternoon, so they arranged to either hang out in the pool together or down at the beach on the inflatable assault course. They were not bored and had the freedom to be teenagers in a safe environment!
The hosts were fun, friendly and helpful, and facilitated an amazing, well organised holiday. The activities were run by local companies with great staff. Croatia is a beautiful country. BOOK IT!
