点评:This place was crowded. There was a slow line just to get in. I was told by a ranger that the upper parking lot (yards from the view) was full, and I would probably have to go to the lake and hike from there.
Well, since a lot of out of state visitors are there simply to just see just the falls, and "locals" are more interested in camping and lake activities, the upper parking lot clears out fast, and I got a parking spot easily from a number of choices. Thankful for that. And the visitors center and store are close by that parking lot also. So are restrooms. The view, the store, and the restrooms are all wheelchair accessible.
I was there on a Monday, and be warned: weekends require a timed entry the last I checked. So, if you have a choice, early or later in the day, midweek, is the best time to visit.
A nearby spring is where the water for the falls originates, and it is an impressive falls, but I live 30 minutes from the Columbia Gorge, which has about 77 falls, and some of them are huge and loud, and some are small and gentle. So, Burney Falls was an interesting experience, but it wasn't a "must see." I am glad I got to see it and "experience" the surrounding area, though. I never did go down to the lake or campground. I think I spent more time waiting to get in than I did seeing the falls.
